Sheila Bidar
Sheila Bidar, MS, LAc is the founder and chief practitioner of Midtown AcuCare. It is through her hard work and her dedication to her profession, as well as her strong relationships and track record of excellence with her past and present patients, that she has grown her practice into what it is today – one of the premiere acupuncture and TCM centers in New York. Sheila Bidar, MS, LAc is highly attentive to clients and takes the time to work one-on-one for best results.
Sheila is a native New Yorker who has always had a strong affinity for Asian philosophy, culture and teachings. Her interest in oriental medicine began during her training at the New York Aikikai in Manhattan, the oldest continuously operating Aikido dojo in the Continental United States. She soon went on to complete her Master’s of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from the New York College of Health Professions – an institution long recognized as a leader in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the United States.
In addition to this, Sheila earned an International TCM certificate from Zhejiang College of TCM in China. She completed an herbal and acupuncture apprenticeship and is practiced in infertility, gynecology, dermatology, pain management and gastroenterology. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in New York State, and is a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York. Sheila has also been certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and has been certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique.
Sheila has served as a committee member at the New York City chapter of Step Up, a national, non-profit organization which unites professional women and underserved teen girls through mentorship, networking and advancement. Step Up strives to offer women and girls the tools they need to create a better future.
Sheila has been practicing for over 20 years. She is committed to serving her patients and her community, and is one of the few acupuncturists in Manhattan who accepts a wide variety of insurance. Her experience and skill helps provide New Yorkers with the highest quality of acupuncture and herbal medicine available in the city.
